Abstract

Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction constitutes a heterogeneous group of congenital heart diseases that can occur at multiple anatomical levels. In complex cases, conventional surgical options may be limited.

We present the case of a school-aged girl diagnosed with symptomatic severe aortic valve stenosis, with a hypoplastic aortic valve annulus, supravalvular aortic stenosis, and tunnel-like stenosis of the shaped left ventricular outflow tract. The patient had irregular follow-up at a specialized center and presented with symptoms of congestive heart failure and severe left ventricular dysfunction.

In complex and selected cases of left ventricular outflow tract obstruction, when conventional techniques cannot be performed, apico-aortic conduit implantation remains a relevant therapeutic option.
